PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket device for an electric component capable of correctly positioning the electric component in a housing so as not to produce inclination with respect to a reference surface. SOLUTION: This socket device is provided with the housing 2 attached to a board 5, having contact terminals 2a for connecting contact parts 1a of a camera module 1 thereto, and used for mounting the camera module 1; and is also provided with an intermediate member 3 having an opening 3a for inserting a camera part 1b formed in an upper part of the camera module 1 and leg parts 3b for pressing upper surface parts 1c of the camera module 1 excluding the camera part 1b. The socket device is so structured that the four leg parts 3b of the intermediate member 3 respectively press the corresponding four upper surface parts 1c of the camera module 1 by pressing the intermediate member 3 to mount the camera module 1 in the housing 3.
