PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a resin foam excellent in heat insulating properties and flame retardancy and having high mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The method for producing a polyamic acid foam comprises reacting a tetracarboxylic dianhydride, a polyisocyanate compound, a foam stabilizer, water and a tertiary amino group-containing polyhydric alcohol to form a resin foam having an amic acid bond.
