PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear projection display which can reduce the dimensions of its main section while securing the spaces to electric components such as general-purpose personal computers. SOLUTION: The image output source 1 is disposed facing up at the lower section inside the case 3, and a reflection mirror 9 is disposed inclining to face the screen at the upper section inside the case 3. They are arranged to form an optical layout so that the image light 8b, 8b output from the source 1 is projected to the screen 4 through the mirror 9. Electric components 7 are placed in the space which is not interrupting the image light 8b, 8b from the image output source 1 and secured between the back of the screen and the output source 1, although it is a position overlapping the space 10 used to project the image to the screen 4 in the vertical direction of the main display.
