<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately inform a user of the name of a picture-sound signal output apparatus such as digital TV broadcast signal receivers etc. now sending present signals to the display even when a display locates in a separate room from the picture-sound output apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When a user pushes down a test key 24 on a remote controller 4 with picture signals and sound signals outputted from a receiver 1 to a monitor 3, the receiver 1 outputs both a sound signal showing its own model name to speakers 61, 62 at the monitor 3 and signals of a connected information picture 51 including its own model name superposed on the picture signal to the monitor 3. Thus, as shown in the drawing, the receiver 1 immediately informs a user located near own apparatus that own apparatus is sending present signals to the monitor 3, even if the monitor 3 is disposed in a separate room from his/her own apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
