PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) lamp. SOLUTION: A DBD lamp discharger (2) includes a fluorescent layer (25) in a discharge space (13), and has an outer side tubular part (8) having an inner face (15), and an inner side tubular part (9) having an outer face (17). The inner side tubular part (9) is surrounded by the outer side tubular part (8). In this embodiment, a nearly ring-shaped discharge space (13) is demarcated between the outer side tubular part (8) and the inner side tubular part (9). The inner side tubular part (9) includes numerous protruding parts (20) along its entire circumference. The protruding parts (20) extend into the nearly ring-shaped discharge space (13). A first pair of mutually connected electrodes (16, 18) and a second pair of mutually connected electrodes (16, 18) are also installed. These electrodes (16, 18) are isolated from the discharge space (13) by at least one dielectric layer, and at least one of the dielectric layers is constituted by a wall of the inner side tubular part (9).
