PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bulging method capable of correctly positioning a stock tube in a die and controlling the bulging rate. SOLUTION: When two bulging rods 42a, 44a are moved, the position signals detected by position detection sensors 42b, 44b are transmitted to a controller 90, the controller 90 determines the positions of the two bulging rods 42a, 44a based on the position signals, and the controller 90 controls a small hydraulic pressure generator 40 to move the two bulging rods 42a, 44a so that a stock tube 12 is located at a predetermined position. The movement of the two bulging rods 42a, 44a is adjusted by controlling the small hydraulic pressure generator 40 by the controller 90, and the stock tube 12 is bulged at an adequate bulging rate (the moving speed).
