PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap perform capable of suppressing degradation of the plug openability of a bottle with a cap through retort treatment, and a method for manufacturing the same.

SOLUTION: The cap preform 1 comprises a top plate part 10 and a peripheral wall part 20 substantially suspended from a peripheral edge of the top plate part 10, and a foamed layer is provided on at least a part of an inner face of the peripheral wall part 20.
