<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost compact humidifier and an air-conditioner. <P>SOLUTION: The humidifier comprises a moisture adsorbing member 13 for adsorbing moisture in the atmospheric air, a suction part 16 through which the atmospheric air flows into the moisture adsorbing member 13, a carrying part 5 for carrying the moisture adsorbed by the moisture adsorbing member 13 into a room, and a communicating part 18 for releasing air after passing through the moisture adsorbing member 13 to the atmospheric air. Herein, a switching means 20 is provided for switching the discharging direction of the air after passing through the moisture adsorbing member 13 between the side of the carrying part 5 and the side of the communicating part 18.
