PURIFIED VACUOLATING TOXIN FROM HELICOBACTER PYLORI AND METHOD TO USE THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a purified Helicobacter pylori vacuolating toxin and to provide a method for using the toxin for producing a protective antibody against H. pylori infection. SOLUTION: The purified antibody originating from H. pylori specifically induces eucaryotic vacuolating and does not contain fetal bovine serum. The antiserum to the antibody is used for detecting the toxin. The method for detecting an anti-toxin antibody determines the susceptibility of a patient to develop peptic ulcer disease, gastric carcinoma or other clinical consequences of H. pylori infection.
