PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intelligibly report a direction for a vehicle to advance in to a driver at a guidance point during route guidance. SOLUTION: When the vehicle approaches a guidance point such as an intersection on a guidance route, the right/left turning direction of the vehicle at the guidance point is guided by the turning direction of a steering wheel 30 by executing a turn/return operation wherein the steering wheel 30 is turned a prescribed angle in a direction, in which the vehicle has to turn right or left, and immediately returned to its original position. Since the driver always holds the steering wheel 30 while driving the vehicle, the driver can easily comprehend the direction in which the vehicle has to advance from the turning direction of the steering wheel 30.
