PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can be easily manufactured and can supply stably an ink. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 10 feeds the ink to an inkjet recording apparatus through an ink feeding needle of the inkjet recording apparatus, and has an approximately rectangular parallelepiped shape containing an ink feeding face 18 arranging an ink feeding path 16 into which the ink feeding needle is inserted. The ink cartridge is equipped with a container body 12 in which the height h of a side face 26 approximately intersecting the ink feeding face at right angles is larger than the width w of at least one of the ink feeding face 18, and one of the side faces is an opening face 28 opening in the width w direction, a lid 14 having an approximately same shape as the opening face 28 and sealing the opening face 28 of the container body 12, and a porous material 20 having an approximately same shape as the container body 12 and stored in a space formed by the container body 12 and the lid 14.
