An indoor air heating and conditioning unit is installed within a fireplace. The unit is a prior art standard unit hermetically sealed against the fireplace and operates in conjunction with a fluid coolant. The room whose air is to be conditioned draws external ambient fresh air through the unit. The resulting condensate is discharged through the chimney flue.
