The method involves determining a date (date(n)) of one modification of an electric signal by a microprocessor type electronic device. A release of a key of a key board causes another modification of the signal, and a date (date (n+1) of the latter modification is determined. The duration of press (T) of the key is determined with respect to the dates corresponding to the former and latter modifications. An independent claim is also included for a system adapted for the implementation of a key pressing duration determining method.
