PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid incorrect discrimination such as a track jump, to correctly detect a position to where the last recording data is recorded, and to enable resuming of seamless data recording in a data recording device which is configured so as to resume recording to continue from the end of write data recorded before interruption after the data recording to the recording medium is once interrupted. SOLUTION: When continuity of address data contained in the data already recorded on a recording medium is checked, check of continuity is carried out with binary of address data contained in the first buffer in which recorded data is stored and the address data contained in the data already recorded on the above recording medium. Thereby, since the continuity check of data is carried out normally even if the address of the data currently being recorded is nonstandard, and furthermore, data cannot be reproduced normally, the recording end is detected correctly and the resumption of recording of data seamlessly is attained.
