<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a sugar bonded filler, which is easy to handle and suitable for use in liquid chromatography, easy to measure molecular characteristics such as a medicament bonding capacity, a selective molecule recognizing capacity, solubility and the like or to set a separation condition. <P>SOLUTION: The sugar bonded filler constituted by fixing sugar to a carrier through a ligand, the sugar bonded filler wherein the ligand of a separation agent is a 4-12C alkyl group, the sugar bonded filler wherein the ligand and sugar are bonded through a sulfur bond, a nitrogen bond or an oxygen bond and the sugar bonded filler wherein sugar is a monosaccharide having an ion exchange capacity are provided. Further, the sugar bonded filler wherein mannose or glactose is fixed to a carrier through a propylamino group is provided.
