PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footrest for a vehicle which can reduce the load inputted to the driver's foot in the vehicle collision and adjust the reaction force according to the occupant having different body type. SOLUTION: The footrest for the vehicle is equipped with a fixing side pad 7 provided on the vehicle floor 1, a turning side pad 9 turnably supported in the state abutting the lower surface of the fixing side pad 7 to the upper surface, and a turning means 11 turning the turning side pad 9 with respect to the fixing side pad 7. The upper surface of the fixing side pad 7 and the lower surface of the turning side pad 9 are formed to be the rugged surfaces composing a plurality of ribs and the grooves respectively, and the ribs of the rugged surfaces are abutted to each other. When the turning side pad 9 is turned, the contact surfaces of the ribs each other change and the reaction force of the footrest changes according to the contacting area. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
