PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston cooling device capable of improving cooling efficiency. SOLUTION: Oil S supplied in an annular cooling passage 4 by injection to an oil supply port is discharged from an oil discharging port 6 through the cooling passage 4 so as to cool a piston 2. Oil once discharged from the inside of the cooling passage 4 flows backward in the cooling passage 4 from the oil discharging port 6 with a descent of the piston 2 or the like and along a ceiling surface 4a to spread in the cooling passage 4. By shutting off the oil R with upright surfaces 9a, 10a of shut-off wall members 9, 10, hence, backflow of the oil R in the cooling passage 4 can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
