PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus capable of reducing the number of control lines for transferring control information and also capable of simplifying the configuration of a control means for outputting the control information to the control lines. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic image diagnostic apparatus comprises a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators arranged in a matrix state, a transmitting and receiving means that outputs an electric signal for exciting and driving the vibrators to send an ultrasonic beam and receives an electric signal converted from an ultrasonic echo signal received at the vibrators, a switch means that switches the connection between the transmitting and receiving means and the each vibrator, a metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor MOSFET 2 that stores the control information for controlling the switching of the switch means, and a switching controller 3 that gives the control information to the MOSFET 2 for storing and gives the stored control information to the switch means. The vibrators, the transmitting and receiving means, the switch means, the MOSFET 2 and the switching controller 3 are arranged within a probe head. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
