<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management system and method, which allow acquired processing condition data to be easily registered in a database even in the case of the occurrence of a fault or the like in a first information processing apparatus or a network. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where data cannot be transmitted/received between a device interface 200 and a database server 300, processing condition data 206a is converted to a file by a file creation part 260 and is preserved in a folder 208b of a large-capacity storage unit 208 as a processing condition file 208a. An operator properly copies the processing condition file 208a to a folder 308b of the database server 300.
