<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reception control method and a radio LAN device operating at a low power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The reception control unit 260 of the radio LAN device is provided with a PLCP header decoding circuit 100 for analyzing the received header information of a PLCP frame, and a power control circuit 106 for stopping the receiving operation of the receiving side circuit on the basis of the header information to control power consumption. Transmission time data of the transmission frame is extracted from the header information in a LENGTH data extracting circuit 102 and the extracted transmission time data are set in a sleep timer 104.
