<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detection device capable of acquiring high distance accuracy only by an image even when distance cannot be detected by a radar. <P>SOLUTION: In an image processing device 30, the distance to a preceding vehicle detected by the radar 10 and included in object data and a preceding vehicle image photographed by a camera 20 when detecting the distance are stored correlatively, and when the radar 10 cannot detect the preceding vehicle, the size ratio between the preceding vehicle image reflected on a present image photographed at present by the camera 20 and the stored preceding vehicle image is calculated, and the stored distance to the preceding vehicle is multiplied by the calculated size ratio, to thereby calculate the distance to the present preceding vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
