PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic drive type relay with low power consumption and high reliability. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic drive type relay comprises an electromagnet unit 34 having an exciting coil; a plunger 36 driven by the magnetic field generated at the electromagnet unit 34; a movable contact block 38 having movable contacts 40a, 40b, driven in compliance with the movement of the plunger, capable of relatively moving against the plunger 36; fixed contact blocks 44a, 44b having fixed contacts 42a, 42b connected to and disconnected from the movable contacts 40a, 40b in compliance with the movement of the plunger 36; and engaging members 48a, 48b retaining the movable contacts 40a, 40b and the fixed contacts 42a, 42b in a connected state by engaging with a part of the movable contact block 38.
