PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for manufacturing a rolling bearing, which technique can integrally form a bearing ring having a shoulder portion of a required shape at a low cost while preventing the damage and wear of forming dies by reducing the stress produced in the forming dies in a series of forming processes. SOLUTION: The apparatus for manufacturing a bearing ring of a rolling bearing comprises a metallic die 20 provided with an annular groove 18, and an annular pressing die 24 for applying a pressing force to a material 22 filled the annular groove. The annular groove of the metallic die and the annular pressing die are provided with annular projections G2 respectively at required positions of the respective opposed surfaces. In this configuration, when the material has been formed so as to have a required shape by applying the pressing force, by means of the annular pressing die, to the material filled the annular groove of the metallic die, annular recessed portions G1 are integrally formed by means of the respective annular projections at least on both sides of the outside diameter surface or the inside diameter surface (outside diameter surfaces 12a, 14a or inside diameter surfaces 12b, 14b of the bearing ring 10) of a formed product 26.
