PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safe stopping of a vehicle, in the traveling vehicle having an HST type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: This traveling vehicle is provided with a hydraulic pump 12 of an HST driven by receiving rotational motive power of an engine 2, and a second hydraulic pump 13 different from this pump. An output shaft 23 of a hydraulic motor 14 of the HST is provided with a hydraulic lock device 27 operated by hydraulic force of the second hydraulic pump 13 and operating in a switching system to a state of stopping rotation of the shaft 23 by penetrating a piston through the motor output shaft 23 and a state of allowing the rotation by retreating the piston from the motor output shaft 23.
