PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for a side ditch allowing the construction of the side ditch further high in durability at a boundary between a sidewalk and a driveway at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the concrete block 1 for the side ditch having a concrete passage extending in a longitudinal direction, an angle 20 is embedded in one edge 11 out of edges 11, 12 extending in the longitudinal direction and exposed to the ground surface when embedded, while no angle is embedded in the other edge 12. The side ditch is constructed by embedding the block 1 for the side ditch in the boundary between the sidewalk and driveway so that the the edge 11 with the angle 20 embedded faces the driveway. This permits the construction of the side ditch high in durability on the driveway side and clearly indicating the boundary between the sidewalk and driveway with the angle 20.
