PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption type refrigerating machine capable of further improving the efficiency by shortening a time necessary to get a determined cold water/hot water temperatures from the start of the operation. SOLUTION: This absorption type refrigerating machine 100 comprises a high temperature regenerator 1, a low temperature regenerator 3, a condenser 4, an evaporator 6, an absorber 7, high temperature heat exchanger 15 and a low temperature heat exchanger 17, and performs the refrigerating operation by circulating the absorption liquid to the high temperature regenerator, the low temperature regenerator, the condenser, the evaporator, the absorber and the like. A bypass pipe is mounted in a state of being connected with an absorption liquid pipe of the high temperature regenerator at its one end and connected with an upstream side of a second absorption liquid pump at the other end, and a bypass valve is opened from the start of operation to a time when a temperature of the high temperature regenerator or a temperature of the absorption liquid flowing out from the absorber reaches a specific temperature, or for the lapse of a specific time, to increase the quantity of absorption liquid circulated in the high temperature regenerator.
