<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leader tape which hardly causes disturbance in winding a magnetic tap even during long-term preservation or high-temperature running, hardly causes a tape copy, is hardly damaged, has little increases in error rate due to the tape copy and the damage and has improved durability, and to provide a magnetic tape cartridge using the same and magnetic recording and reproducing method. <P>SOLUTION: In a leader tape comprising a coating layer containing a powder and a binder on at least one surface of a support, the leader tape has center line average coarseness (Ra) of 10 to 60 nm on the at least one surface, a length of 0.3 to 3m, and a surface lubricant quantity of the coating layer of 5 to 15 (C/Fe) in Auger electron spectroscopy. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
