PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method of a drain system capable of selecting a proper vertical drain pipe and capable of determining a piping form in response to a load flow rate value without relying on an experience and an intuition. SOLUTION: A first reducing factor indicates a degree of reducing a design allowable flow rate value of the vertical drain pipe caused by a form of the vertical drain pipe, and is predetermined. The first reducing factor is selected in response to the form of the vertical drain pipe of the drain system to be designed. The drain system is designed so that a correction value provided by correcting the design allowable flow rate value of the vertical drain pipe of the drain system by using the selected first reducing factor, becomes the load flow rate value or more of the vertical drain pipe of the drain system.
