PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas range having higher thermal efficiency by improving heat transfer efficiency between combustion gas and a cooking vessel. SOLUTION: During cooking, when flames formed upward by the combustion of a burner 14 hit a bottom face central portion of the cooking vessel P, they spread sideways (in the radial direction from the center of the burner 149). The combustion gas (including the flames) is therefore flows into a plurality of spirally partitioned combustion gas passages and collides with grate pawls 22 to change its flow from the horizontal direction into the upward direction, and then it is fed to the outside while repetitively colliding with the bottom face of the cooking vessel P. A turbulence plate 19 is provided on the midway of the combustion gas passage, and so the combustion gas hits the turbulence plate 19 during the flow and its flow is crushingly disturbed in the upward direction. The combustion gas is therefore made into a turbulent flow in the partitioned combustion gas passages to prevent the formation of a heat transfer boundary film on the bottom face of the cooking vessel P, resulting in improved thermal efficiency.
