<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower total power consumption below a predetermined level without providing a PC for managing the total power consumption of a plurality of image forming apparatus connected with a network. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus system comprises low power consumption printers and high power consumption printers wherein the server printer 1 of the printers comprises a job notice receiving section 121 for detecting the print job of other client printers, a print data receiving section 127 for detecting its own print job, a device state acquiring section 122 for acquiring current power consumption of the printer, a state managing section 131 and a section 124 for storing power consumption under each printer state, and a printer determining section 123 for making a decision whether the total power consumption reaches a predetermined level or not when the print job is executed based on the current power consumption of each device and executing that print job on a low power consumption printer if the total power consumption reaches the predetermined level and the print job is executed on a high power consumption printer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
