A lighting assembly comprises a housing, a power supply transmitted into the housing, a series of light emitting diodes mounted in the housing for outputting sufficient wavelengths for excitation of a phosphor sensitive to a ultraviolet area of an electromagnetic spectrum, a conversion means for converting power into known voltage for use in the plural light emitting diodes, a light emitting transparent surface having an inner surface area, and a ultraviolet exciting phosphor coating set up on the inner surface area of the transparent closure whereby a naked-eye visible light spectrum is formed via the transparent surface when the phosphor coating is excited by a light emitted from the diodes.
