PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight and durable vacuum cleaner with excellent maitainability of a cord reel, capable of effectively cooling the cord reel. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner has a body casing comprising a lower casing 1, an upper casing 5 with an upper cover 58 for covering the top of the lower casing 1, a dust collecting chamber 101 for storing a dust collecting body 102 inside, a motor chamber 103 for storing an electric blower 105, etc. The lower casing 1 has a diaphragm 11 for supporting the electric blower 105, rear wheel mounting walls 13a and 13b on both sides of the diaphragm 11 on which rear wheels are mounted, a cord reel chamber 104 whose bottom is open, disposed under the diaphragm 11, and a partition 26 with a vent 27, projecting between the dust collection chamber 101 and a motor chamber 103, all of which are integrally formed.
