<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color thermal print method in which fixing time is shortened. <P>SOLUTION: A margin Ab has a length Db substantially equal to the length of a magenta fixing unit. When an image P2 short enough to produce a margin Ab even if it is recorded in a recording area As is taken in, image of each color is thermally recorded such that a margin Ab is produced on the rear end side in the feeding direction of a recording area As in the optical fixing. When fixing a magenta thermal coloring layer, irradiation of UV-rays is performed by advancing the recording area As into the fixing area from the forward end thereof, and immediately after the rear end position of the recording area As is advanced into the fixing area, carriage of the recording area As is reversed thus completing the fixing. Consequently, the magenta thermal coloring layer of the recording area As is fixed completely excepting the margin. When a short image is recorded, stop fixing can be eliminated because complete fixing of the marginal rear end part is not required. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
