<p>The parking aid enables a vehicle (3) to be parked or steered autonomously, or assists a driver in a parking operation, using a steering wheel torque applied to the steering wheel. The driver is assisted by pref. two or three artificial steering stops on a parking path. The parking path is divided into a pull-in path in the area of a parking space (6), and a start-up path in front of it. At least part of the start-up path is determined on the basis of one or more polynominals (10,11,12). The contact point (16) between start-up path and pull-in path is determined dependent upon the position of the vehicle to be parked.</p> |
