<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and high-performance hydrogen sensor excelling in gaseous hydrogen detection capability. <P>SOLUTION: This hydrogen sensor is characterized by using a hydrogen-reactive dimming mirror as a probe and optically detecting a change in reflectivity and/or transmissivity of light accompanying hydrogenation of the dimming mirror.
