PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store a sheaf of sheets of a special size having a smaller width than a fixed size, accurately register the sheaf of sheets by side guides, and prevent lowering of separating and feeding performance of a separating/feeding means of a sheet feeder to the sheaf of sheets. SOLUTION: In a paper feed cassette 82, a side guide 94 is provided with a base member 102, and an extension guide member 98 is connected to the inside of the base member 102. Further, the extension guide member 98 is provided with a guide plate part 164 extended downward from the inside end of the extension part 162, the lower end of which is inserted in an opening part 166. By this arrangement, even when narrower recording paper sheets are placed on a bottom plate 84, the recording paper sheets placed on the bottom plate 84 are registered to the center position by a pair of guide plate parts 164.
