PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handsfree communication unit capable of performing handsfree communication by selecting an optimal telephone terminal among a plurality of available telephone terminals and capable of using other telephone terminal independently during handsfree communication, and to provide its control method. SOLUTION: The handsfree telephone conversation unit 10 searches a wired cell phone 100a at the time of originating a call and originates a call through that cell phone 100a if the wired cell phone 100a is searched otherwise searches a wireless cell phone 100b and originates a call through the searched cell phone 100b. At the time of terminating a call, the handsfree communication unit 10 performs handsfree communication even if a call is terminated at any one of the cell phone 100a or 100b through speech communication with that cell phone.
