<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively remove high chemical oxygen demand (COD) substances discharged during the manufacture of a polyarylene sulfide represented by polyphenylene sulfide. <P>SOLUTION: An organic solvent, e.g. hexanol is added to drainage containing COD substances generated during the manufacture of polyarylene sulfide represented by polyphenylene sulfide, thereby extracting and removing the high COD substances. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
