PURPOSE: A jelly-roll-type electrode assembly and a secondary battery employing the electrode assembly are provided, to minimize the modification in case of winding a negative electrode plate, a positive electrode plate and a separator and pressurizing them. CONSTITUTION: The jelly-roll-type electrode assembly(20) comprises a positive electrode plate(21) which has a positive electrode current collector thin film located at the innermost angle in case of winding and having a positive electrode uncoated part(21a) where a positive electrode active material is not coated, and a positive electrode coating part where a positive electrode active material is formed at least one side of the positive electrode current collector; a negative electrode plate(22) which is separated from the positive electrode plate with a certain interval, and has a negative electrode current collector thin film located at the innermost angle in case of winding and having a negative electrode uncoated part(22a) where a negative electrode active material is not coated, and a negative electrode coating part where a negative electrode active material is formed at least one side of the negative electrode current collector; a separator(23a, 23b) which is interposed between the positive and negative electrode plates and insulates the two electrodes; and a negative electrode terminal(25) and a positive electrode terminal(24) which are electrically combined with the negative electrode uncoated part and the positive electrode uncoated part, respectively. and face to the both sides of the separator, respectively, so as to be arranged closely in identical plane. |
