PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high temperature/high pressure treatment method for an organic waste capable of oxidation-decomposing/treating the organic waste having a high solid content with relatively inexpensive facility cost and running cost. SOLUTION: Degradation by hydrolysis is advanced by passing the organic waste such as a dehydration sludge having moisture content of 90% or less through a pre-heater 2 under a liquid phase condition lower than the critical pressure and the critical temperature of water and then it is transferred to a reactor 1 under a high temperature/high pressure condition which is lower than the critical pressure of water but is higher than the critical temperature of water and is oxidation-treated. It is preferable that the pressure of the pre-heater 2 and the reactor 1 is 2-22 MPa, the temperature of the pre-heater is 240-300°C and the temperature of the reactor 1 is 400-800°C.
