PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubbish storing and discharging device capable of storing rubbish efficiently while it is compressed sufficiently and discharging the rubbish efficiently and smoothly, decomposing upon generation of bridge phenomenon. SOLUTION: The rubbish storing and discharging device is equipped with a transport path 2 having a transport screw 3 installed rotatably in the regular and the reverse direction and arranged together with the screw 3 horizontally or inclined upward from one end to the other end, a cast-in means 4 installed in an appropriate position between one end of the transport path 2 and the middle on the way and casting the rubbish into the transport path 2, a storage tank 5 in communication with one end of the transport path 2 for storing the rubbish fed in by the screw 3, and a discharge plate 6 installed in the tank 5 and arranged reciprocating between the position confronting the transport path 2 and the position retracting from the path 2.
