PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair dye having excellent coloring power, scarcely causing secondary adhesion due to sweat, water, and abrasion, and further scarcely making hair bristly after dyeing of the hair. SOLUTION: This hair dye contains (A) an amphoteric resin, (B) an amine oxide group-containing resin, (C) one or more kinds selected from an aromatic alcohol and propylene carbonate, and (D) a direct dye, wherein the resins (A) and (B) are contained in amounts satisfying: (A):(B)=2:1 to 1:8.
