摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of knocking and reduce NOx generation quantity without spoiling effect of multipoint ignition system for increasing output, improving fuel economy and reducing HC concentration. SOLUTION: In a multipoint ignition system internal combustion engine provided with a plurality of ignition means 6A, 6B igniting air fuel mixture in a combustion chamber composed of bore diameter B roughly at a same time, interval A of ignition position 6A<SB>1</SB>, 6B<SB>1</SB>at each ignition means 6A, 6B is established in a range of 0.25B≤A≤0.3B. In this multipoint ignition system internal combustion engine, a narrow space and a wide space are provided and ignition positions 6A<SB>1</SB>, 6B<SB>1</SB>of each ignition means 6A, 6B are preferably arranged in the narrow space of the combustion chamber.
