PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform safe deodorization of a refrigerator by a device handling and maintenance and management of which are extremely facilitated by a method wherein two electrode plates are arranged separately from each other in a circulation passage through which air in a chamber, such as a refrigerator, is circulated, and plus and minus DC low voltages are applied between the electrode plates. SOLUTION: Electrode plates 2 and 3 are previously positioned facing each other on the inner wall of a chamber 1 and a deodorizing device body 4 is arranged at or incorporated in the external part of a refrigerator. In the use thereof, a source switch is turned ON and when plus and minus of a DC6 V low voltage are individually applied between the electrode plates 2 and 3, low voltage DC self-discharge action is generated, air the potential of which is changed is circulated through the chamber 1, and a potential in the chamber 1 is increased. This constitution reduces discharge of the potential of a fresh food, such as meat and vegetables, and delays the change of the fresh food to keep freshness and further suppresses the generation of an of tensive ordor of the fresh food, and deodorizes a smell in the chamber 1 to a value low enough not to be felt unconfortable the change of the potential. |
