<p>A back light device according to one embodiment of this invention, comprising a housing with a bottom face and an opening part opposed to the bottom face, a cylindrical light source disposed above the bottom face of the housing, and first and second light source holding members fixed to the bottom face of the housing apart from each other. The device is characterized in that the first and second light source holding members comprise first and second pressing parts having pressing faces opposed to each other, and the cylindrical light source is pressed by the pressing faces of the first and second pressing parts for holding. Thus, a variation in brightness on an illuminated surface can be minimized by correcting the deflection of a long and small diameter lamp so that the lamp can be disposed in a straight line.</p> |
