PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam cooking device capable of quickening rise of excessively superheated steam and shortening cooking time. SOLUTION: This steam cooking device is provided with the steam generator for generating steam, a steam temperature raising device for raising temperature of steam from the steam generator, and a heating chamber for heating an object to be heated by the steam supplied from the steam temperature raising device. The steam generator has a pot 41 in which water is supplied, a heat generation part, and a non-heat generation part and has a heater 42 in which at least the heat generation part is arranged in the pot 41 and a water level sensor 43 arranged in the pot 41 and in the vicinity of the non-heat generation part (region C) of the heater 42.
