PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a sintered component where heat treatment for hardening treatment to sintered high speed steel is not required, the reduction of the material cost, the facilitation of the production, the reduction in strain at the time of sintering, the reduction in a machining allowance at the time of finish machining or the like can be attained, and the leaving of a hardened layer having high hardness can also be possible by the surface after machining. SOLUTION: A member A formed of powder composing high speed steel and a member B formed of metal powder or molten metal containing no carbon or having a carbon content lower than that in the high speed steel are combined and sintered, so as to be integrated, and the combined member after the sintering is subjected to gas cooling, and the member A is quenched.
