PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining the scattering of toner all over the inside of the apparatus with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a cleaning means 73 capable of contacting with/separating from the surface 51a of a toner image carrier 51 rotating in a state where a toner image adheres to its surface and removing the toner adhering to the surface of the toner image carrier when it abuts thereon, and is provided with a toner receiving part 75 on a more downstream side in the moving direction of the surface of the toner image carrier than an abutting position T where the cleaning means abuts on the toner image carrier. The toner receiving part 75 is partitioned into a plurality of chambers by a partition plate 75a extended in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction R of the surface of the toner image carrier.
