<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that when a distance to cup is measured on a green, since the measurement of distance depends upon the individual height conventionally, a plurality of distance display labels to be attached to a grip are required and when the inclination angle of the green becomes larger, its effect on the measurement of distance cannot be ignored. <P>SOLUTION: This putter incorporates a liquid crystal device, an operating button and an electronic circuit with an arithmetic processing function in the grip part. The height of a player is optionally input therein, an intersecting position of the grip and the line of sight is specified through sequential lighting of LEDs arranged in series in the grip, the calculation result is displayed on the liquid crystal screen, a sensor electronically reading the inclination angle of the green is incorporated in the head part of the putter, an actual length removing the effect of the inclination is converted and displayed, a relational expression of a take-back amount and a ball rolling amount is found from a pendulum model formed by integrating the arm and the putter, and then the take-back amount taking account of the effect of an inclination of a green to the converted actual length is simultaneously displayed.
