PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level rod capable of recognizing and keeping easily an upright condition of the level rod, and capable of supporting the level rod abutting onto a pipe easily under a stable condition, and to improve working efficiency thereby. SOLUTION: In this level rod for measuring a level or a gradient used in pipe laying work or the like, an gas bubble type level gage is integrally engaged in a prescribed position of the level rod, and a shape of a lower end portion in the level rod is formed into a shape capable of supporting the level rod on the pipe under the stable condition.
